Evaluating the efficacy of corticosteroids and bronchodilators in the management of paediatric bronchiolitis

Background: Bronchiolitis, a standard lower tract infection in young children, poses significant challenges terms of diagnosis and management. Corticosteroids bronchodilators are often prescribed to manage this condition, despite limited evidence supporting their efficacy. This study aimed judge the effectiveness corticosteroids within management paediatric bronchiolitis. Objective: see clinical efficacy improving respiratory symptoms reducing hospitalization rates among patients with Study Settings Sample Size: was conducted at different centres including Department Paediatrics, Social Security MNCH Hospital, Dera Ghazi Khan, Punjab Sahara Medical College Narowal, period from October, 2022 March, 2023 enrolling 300 children aged 1 month 2 years Methods: Participants were randomly assigned least one three treatment groups: (n=100), or placebo (n=100). first outcome improvement Respiratory Distress Assessment Instrument (RDAI) score. Secondary outcomes included rates, length hospital stay, adverse events. Results: Children corticosteroid group experienced significantly greater RDAI scores compared (p<0.001).
